Sacred encounters ….
When BRAHMS is playing the Rhapsody G minor op. 79 no. 2
This is not such a G minor to me.
With more than seventy-nine tones of sensations
building new heights…
as the number one disappears.
Only the number two remains ………for now,
My eyes are relaxed and closed.
and I am traveling…
My journey starts from a big window…
and I have no luggage
God is holding me, hugging me…………………………
This is my first trip with the Master of the Universe.
All I have is a white flowing dress;
my black hair is dancing in the supreme silence…
I arrived at the place
where I feel neither cold nor hot,
I can’t hear anything,
and I am not afraid.
There are no colors
yet everything is ethereal.
I can’t see any shapes,
yet my silhouette fills this place
and my sense of time is lost.
An inner vibration guides me to gaze far….. yet close,
Still I have no feeling of distance……………..
I see my long gone friends and lovers
They are all together smiling around me,
I can’t touch them
and they don’t speak.
But they are happy holding hands around me…
I am in the center,
and I can see their eyes.
I can read the beauty and peace in each of them.
I am the only one wearing a long white dress,
and though they are naked,
I can’t see their bodies clearly…..
They all lift me up, but I can’t feel their hands….
and I do not worry about hurting my head,
I am glowing and all my fears are gone.
I am feeling a moment of eternal luxury,
As I choreograph the past, present and future.
I see Fernando’s eyes, and Drew’s smile,
I see Mark’s goodness again,
Susan’s face, Ken and Lacey’s hands
Eddie Berman’s heart of gold
reflecting in his bright eyes.
I see my grandmothers,
Justa dancing and
Aida playing the piano….
Suddenly, my white dress billows in the air.
My loved ones are slowly fading away.
I can’t see them anymore,
They all disappear
without leaving any trace….
But I am not desperate,
I know how small I am….
My journey advances,
now I feel tears dropping
one by one,
until I can’t count them anymore,
they are clearing the path before me………
Again, I am alone…………………………
now I can feel my skin ……
God’s arms are holding me,
hugging me once more……………….
Suddenly my dress starts to fall
off my body, but
God sends me back from where I came,
For it is not my time
according to his schedule,
and the mystery of life moves and dances,
towards the best experiences yet to come.
This was my first trip
with the Master of the Universe…
Reminding me to live and
to absorb the Beauty
of each of the Precious Moments…….

About the Book
As a child, Veronica Strauss learned to walk on the beaches of Argentina. Surrounded by the sights and sounds of the ocean, she nurtured the love of music—from tango to Chopin—and eventually also fell in love with the written word. Her poetry career began at the age of ten as she wrote about life, the beauty of the sea, and the boundless gifts of Mother Nature.
Despite facing life-threatening health issues and other hardships, she found that writing was a healing balm for her soul. Poems from My Heart is her first collection of meditations on what it’s like to struggle, but what it is also like to soar. Veronica holds tight to the power of healing, whether through yoga, poetry, song, or dance.
Her poems invite readers to reflect on their own destined journeys and see the world’s beauty with fresh eyes and a soul wide open. Too often we rush through life until the stress threatens to tear us apart. Day-to-day becomes unmanageable. Why not, for a moment, sit still and wander through words? Why not find peace in poetry and restoration through reflection?
About the Author
Veronica Lidia Strauss was born and raised in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Veronica was educated in Argentina, Brazil, Israel, and the United States. She graduated from Temple University with a degree in business administration and marketing. Veronica has had extensive training and practice in ballet, movement, medical yoga, and Iyengar yoga. Her work has previously appeared in the International Library of Poetry and at the Iyengar Yoga Teacher’s Convention Program Reflection, Iynaus 2010. She currently lives in Hallandale Beach, Florida.
