“Whatever we do, we don't give them the flash drive; it’s our ONLY copy to put Howler and the Covington's away”Max said looking at everyone ready to head out of the motel to the SUV. Jake looked at everyone, smiled, and sheepishly said to his dad “That's not exactly true". “You made a copy, didn't you Jacob?” Max asked looking at his son with a grin on his face. “I thought they could detect if you made another copy?” Max asked facing his son. “They could if I made one copy after another; but if you “ghost” the drive together they think you only made ONE copy, not two” Jake said proud of his ingenuity. “Where’s the other copy?’ Max asked standing there looking at his son continuing his proud smile to him. “On top of Stoney’s drink cooler near the back exit” Jake replied smiling. “Very cool; it should be safe there for now, so let’s go get my grandson back and put these assholes away” Max said opening the motel door and grabbing the full black duffle bag filled with weapons and walking to the back of the SUV with Tyler, Linda, and Jake following out the door behind him. Max drove his black SUV to the entrance of Umstead State Park; pulled over and parked waiting for Howler’s call to give Max the precise location to make the exchange. They didn’t have to wait long because Jake pulled out the now dead Lieutenant Hanson’s buzzing phone from his pocket and put the caller on speaker. Max asked immediately “Where’s my grandson Colonel?” “I have him with me, he’s a VERY polite little boy; WHERE’S my flash drive Mason?” Howler asked with a chuckle in his voice. “I have it; now give me my grandson” Max said looking at the phone Jake was holding. Linda was about to say something when Max put his finger in the air to stop her. Max understood she was at her breaking point with Howler but he needed Howler to believe he was in control or none of them would get out of the park alive, especially Parker; IF he was there. “Easy Admiral, we wouldn’t want to do something foolish where no one gets anything; now would we” Howler replied over the speaker. “Where are we making the exchange Colonel?” Max asked trying to move the situation forward so he could initiate his plan. “Piedmont Beech visitors center, a few miles inside the park; it’s closed during November; follow the signs” Howler replied giving Max and his family a location where Parker would be. “Leave Agent Tyler & Officer Mason at the entrance; ONLY you and your son Jacob comes to us, any confusion and I WILL kill the boy” Howler said. “I believe the boy’s mother might be a bit less rational seeing her son tied up with a hood over his head” Howler continued hoping to get a response out of Linda Mason who he knew was sitting there listening, but didn’t bite. “We’ll be right there; and Howler, you best have my grandson there or I promise you I’ll let my son have you” Max said knowing Jake wanted to kill Howler for taking his son. Everyone heard the phone hang up and got out of the SUV closing their doors. Max walked around the front of the car smiling at Tyler who gave him a big hug and said snickering in his ear “You know this isn’t going to be good for my bad knee”. “Yeah I know, sorry about that sweetheart” Max replied smiling at her as she hugged him hard then kissed him passionately on the lips. Jake hugged Linda who had her arms wrapped around him kissing her on top of her head saying “He’s going to be fine, I promise; we're not going to let anything happen to him okay” believing Max's plan would work. Linda looked up at her husband and smiled saying “I love you, bring our son home; but I swear to God I will kill Evelyn Covington if she harms my boy in any way”. “Yes ma'am, I love you too” Jake replied leaning down to kiss his wife breaking her embrace to climb back into the SUV where his dad was already sitting behind the wheel waiting for him.

Enlisting the help of Jake’s police officer wife Linda; Max & Tyler must avoid the Colonel’s trained mercenaries, a vengeful Japanese business mogul, and the Covington’s murderous electronic toys; in order to find Jake and rescue their little boy…Max’s grandson. Max, Tyler, and Linda must throw away their badges and reunite with Jake along with some unexpected, and surprising help to get Parker back. They must destroy the satellite signal, rescue the child, and get out alive; because sometimes the “Kills of the Father” are necessary to save a family.
