You have a way with words,
You quick-tongued, pixie-cut
Red-stool, green-tool maker of
Pretty little lighthearted,
Sober-tasting flowing fondly in
The August forest fire again.
You have a way of dancing
To the beat of a storm in the sheets,
Making me say stop in the form
Of a question. I've got it now, a
Form in my mouth, and when I bit
Down, all there was, was glass,
And your face amazed. Why do I
Talk about you again like every
Pivot of my mind brings me
Back to you?
Vile
Life isn't all that bad.
I think when we're bored,
Our minds take us to dark places.
I've learned a million times
It feels nice to write it down,
And I chuckle if those dark lines rhyme.
I don't care if you understand anymore.
I don't care if it makes no sense or is
Confusing to the public.
'Cause this vile mind has a voice
And a pen, bored at work.
"What is he doing," or
On the beach or at the bar,
Typing away on my sand-freckled phone,
Taking a break, dipping fries in ranch.

About the Author
Clifford Wayne Williams II spent most of his childhood in Houston and Dallas. When he is not writing, he enjoys drawing, painting, solving math problems, reading, learning new languages, meeting new people, and growing his relationships. Williams penned his first collection of poems, The Man You Didn't Marry, during his first duty assignment in Maryland.
