Who is He?
Who is the man with the funny hat?
The man whom I might call fat
The man with the bright red nose
Bringing magic wherever he goes
His face is painted red, white, and blue
On his skin it sticks like glue
His clothes are patched and rather sloppy
His shoes are mismatched and rather floppy
His right glove is blue, his left is yellow
He is a jolly bubbly kind of fellow
He sways around in his baggy tights
Children laugh and cheer when he’s in sight
All his patches and all his colors
Fly around as the crowd hollers
So who is he? What is he?
He is the Circus Clown
Just clowning around
Fairyland
Everyone dreams when they go to bed
With a comfy pillow under their head
After a good night hug
Little children sleep soundly and snug
Their drowsy minds travel far and wide
They jump, skip, hop, and slide
Over hills and vales and mountain side
It’s a fairyland journey of various hues
Red, yellow, purple, and heavenly blues
All is bright and pretty too
There’s a touch of magic all around
As little fairies all abound
Some were up, flying high
Some were down beneath the sky
They lived in a castle beside the sea
Nearby, little birds sang merrily
There were silver bushes and trees of gold
When, lo and behold, it was not as it seemed
It all disappeared, ‘cause it was only a dream
I Have
I have a little bunny that goes hop, hop, hop
And I can’t make him stop, stop, stop
I have a little doggie that runs wild, wild, wild
Just like a little naughty child, child, child
I have a pretty garden that is full, full, full
Of many weeds near pumpkin seeds that we pull, pull, pull
I have a million pebbles on my walk, walk, walk
I have a pretty parrot that can talk, talk, talk
I have trees with little birdies that can sing, sing, sing
I chase away the bees that can sting, sting, sting
I have a little pond that’s not deep, deep, deep
A place where little frogs sleep, sleep, sleep
I have a little swing that can fly, fly, fly
It can’t reach the sky because it’s too high, high, high
Now that the sun has gone far, far, far
I am able to see a star, star, star
People who have gardens can see, see, see
The butterflies and birdies that are free, free, free.

About the Author
About the Author Miriam Kam Weisbrod began writing poetry to fill her time after the death of her husband over thirty years ago. She recently celebrated her ninety-fifth birthday and lives in Anaheim, California. This is her second book. About the Illustrator Barbara Silbert has enjoyed a lifelong career as an art director, illustrator, instructor, and award-winning painter who frequently exhibits on Long Island and New York City. She illustrated the book, No Buttons for Suzie Cow.
