Disobliging Reality

Early on in this exploration, I had our reality doubter seizing the throat of a reality believer and demanding, "Why this instead of that?" In effect, the doubter is asking why must we experience this consensus physical reality to the exclusion of the non-physical separate reality that underlies it. Why must we settle for the explicate order as the only version of reality we can know instead of having the choice to experience the implicate order as well? After all, they are described as being interdependent. Shouldn't we be allowed to investigate the reality of this connection? Why are we restricted to a three-dimensional reality when there is ample evidence that we exist in many more dimensions than that? Why are we limited to a lnear and sequential left-brain reality as our standard of what is popularly sanctioned authenticity, instead of being allowed significant bleed-through from our non-linear, instantaneous right-brain reality to offset the mechanical, cause-and-effect structure of the former? "That" is always present, but it is obscured by the persistence of "this", which is aided and abetted by the consensus majority, which prefers "this" because it is frankly shallow and obvious and literal.

Seems like a clear choice, doesn't it? If only it were so. Say you have a madcap moment and decide to choose "that" over "this". You have decided that "this" from a value fulfillment perspective is bad and that "that" is good. Now you're making a judgment based on dualistic thinking, which is typical of "this" reality, and so you are strengthening the persistence of "this" over "that" and achieving the opposite of what you intend. The catch is that what you consider"that" is equally "this" from "that's" point of view, which is holistic and inclusive. "This", on the other hand, is perfectly happy to excluse "that" as any kind of legitimate reality because it prefers to entertain opposite, exclusive polarities as the basis of its universe of meaning. The point is that there is no choice between "this" and "that". Life is made up of both "this" AND "that" simultaneously. We have juust been trained not to see things this way. So now, if you want more of "that", you don't get it by eliminating "this" to make room for it. You need to find "that" in "this" by altering your consciousness from the belief that the two are opposed to each other. This involves sensitizing your awareness to the presence of "that" in every moment of "this". From this new perspective, you become able to appreciate the fact that "this" is really just another version of "that". "This" becomes "that" with the realization that "this" can never exclude "that". Now what?
