One winter on a farm in the Pacific North West , Katy and her friend Connie found some very big, odd tracks in the snow while they were out playing and making a snowman. They thought it was odd because they were very, very big footprints with big toes. They wondered who would walk barefoot in the snow. They decided to follow them and see where they headed. They went right across the field and right into the woods along with deer tracks. The girls took a picture of their find and cleverly thought they better measure them. The footprints were 14 inches and about 8 inches wide and about 4 ½ feet apart. They had never seen a footprint like that in the snow before. The girls will be watching every day to see if more tracks show up and they can’t wait to talk about their experience at the next Girl Scout meeting.

While searching for forest people, she has had much success using a gentle approach and trying new techniques. Gayle is a homemaker, mother, grandmother, hunter, and fisherwoman who loves nature and the outdoors.
Deborah Ray investigates calls and sightings in the Hudson Valley where she gathers evidence and always has her camera ready to capture an interesting occurrence. She is a mother, grandmother, and registered nurse.
