They were halfway back to the house and almost to the barn when a flash of lightning lit up the sky. That’s when they saw it. It was very large, with a long neck and a hump on its back.
Jessica screamed, breaking loose and running ahead of everybody else. “It’s a monster and it’s going to get us.”
“Hurry, hurry! I saw it move,” shouted Savannah. “It’s going to eat us alive.”

About the Book
Dusty, Savannah, and Jessica are fishing in the pond at their grandparents’ farm when a thunderstorm rolls in. They hurry to pack up their belongings before they are caught in a deluge.
As the trio runs for cover, a flash of lightning illuminates the sky, and they spot a very large monster with a long neck and a hump on its back. The three kids run even faster to reach the safety of the house; they are afraid that the dragon is going to eat them. Dusty, Savannah, and Jessica insist to their grandparents that there is a scary dragon waiting for them in the cornfield.
