About the Book

Nine-year-old Little Red and her brother, Ian, are afraid of thunderstorms. The loud thunder, bright lightning, strong winds, and heavy rain terrify them. Even their dog, McDogall, is scared. They wish the weather would be perfect all the time.

But with their mother’s help, Little Red and Ian come to understand what causes storms and how to be prepared. They learn that thunderstorms don’t have to be scary.

Tandy Schaller and Makenzie Oldham are a mother-daughter team writing books to help children conquer various fears. This is their second book written together. They are both reading specialists in the St. Louis, Missouri, area.
