We batched many cocktails. I was thrilled. I had never liked specialty cocktails. I thoughts they were a sorry attempt to match what the kitchen was doing. I really liked the classic drinks. A clean martini is like a soak in a hot tub; an old fashioned is like candy you stole from mother's cupboard; a Sazerac is like sitting on the grass butt-ass naked. I think we got it right and achieved all there was. I wasn't inspired by muddled cucumber (unless it was in a Pimm's Cup). I wasn’t longing for a spin on a Negroni. Mostly, I'll just take the poison straight in a moderately clean glass. The batching helped though. When the lounge was popping, we began lifting oversized sake bottles refilled with the good stuff. We had gallons of sake martini and lychee martini ready at any given moment. There wasn't any other easy way of doing it. We needed to turn and burn, as they say. My magic tricks needn't be showy; they just needed results.

About the Book
This is a work of fiction inspired by the experience of the author. We follow a youthful Dustin Asman throughout New York City as he climbs his way up from busboy to bartender. Asman is many things and represents the millennial man. He’s both an artist with the pen and the art of Brazilian jiujitsu. We meet his cohorts who are the last set of bohemians to witness the end of the great metropolis known as New York City.
About the Author
Zach Danesh was born on March 27, 1986 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He grew up partly in Los Angeles, and then he and his family moved to a small town north of Boston. He studied art at New World School of the Arts in Miami. He received his BFA through UF with a major in printmaking and minor in art history. Upon graduation, he moved to New York City. He continued his studies at the School of Visual Arts continuing education (with a focus in animation). He currently lives and works on the North Shore of Massachusetts.
