Today school is long and boring as usual. It is April, and since January, there have been no more sports for me on the playground at recess. The boys decided that no girl could play on their teams anymore and that girl is me. I drag myself over to the big oak tree with the roots bursting out of the ground. What used to be my favorite spot for tag is now a gossip corner for those of us who don't belong at the picnic table where all the popular kids sit. What a waste. There is no better home base than a big old tree. Everything is changing and I don't like it one bit.
