Little Brown Turtle's Great Adventure

Little Brown Turtle lived in The Great Woods with his Mother, Father, Brother and Sister.  He had a wonderful place to play near The Big Lake, but Little Brown Turtle was not happy.  He wanted to see what was on the other side of The Great Woods.

So, one day, he started crawling toward the edge of The Great Woods.  He was so busy looking at all the wonderful things around him that he didn't see the big hill in front of him.   Little Brown Turtle began falling down the hill, and he rolled and rolled until he came to a hard stop.

He had landed in a strange and scary looking place with loud noises, and big things that he didn't recognize.  He quickly pulled his head and little legs into his hard brown shell.  There he sat as still and as quiet as he could.

After a while, he stuck out his head very slowly, until he could see on both sides of his shell.  He saw a Beautiful Butterfly flitting around near his head.  The Beautiful Butterfly said to him in a soft voice, "Why are you so far from your home in The Great Woods?"  Little Brown Turtle told the Beautiful Butterfly, "I have fallen down a big hill.  Now, I don't know where I am, and I don't know how to get back home."  The Beautiful Butterfly told Little Brown Turtle, "I'm very sorry that I cannot help you find your way back home in The Great Woods, but you could ask Mr. Squirrel, who lives in the big tree.  He is very wise, and he might br able to help you find your way back to your home in The Great Woods."  So, Little Brown Turtle said, "Thank you" to the Beautiful Butterfly, and started on his way to the big tree.
