Once you have created a plan that lists your aspirations, keep your head straight forward on the goal, and only let the small micro-ambitions that you have set aside get in the way. Do not let fear of failure get in your way. Failure is a self-evident truth of life; along with chaos, it will always find a way to reconstitute itself in another dimension of your life. Every goal is a longshot, but everybody loves a Rocky story. Be your own Rocky story. Have the mentality that someday, people are going to make major motion pictures of your life. Although it is slightly comical, it is a great mindset to have, largely because it is ambiguous. I have always believed that a life of ambiguity is better than a life of absolute structure. In that respect, do not be discouraged if your goals take longer to achieve than anticipated. Nothing is ever as we expect it to be. Life has a funny way of working itself out that way. Although, this is exactly how it should be. For instance, people often dream of having relations with somebody, praying to God only to find out that the person could not be more contrary to the characteristics of their identity. This is a contrived example, but I can nearly guarantee that you have seen a similar occurrence of this nature along a different dimension of your life—wishing for something only to see, after the fact, that it was something that you could have happily done without.

About the Author
Used to being the go-to person for advice among his friend-group, Farrell decided to begin writing his message of advice at 16. Wishing to help others, while simultaneously finding meaning for himself, Farrell finished writing his book at 17. As a voice from the inexperienced youth, Farrell serves as a mediator between the generations.
