Parker snuck a look over the sill of the window and saw Egbert Lyon stand up on the highly polished toes of his tiny shoes and make little round fists with his trotters. “Porcine, I hate, hate, hate it when you are late! Can’t you see that our world could crash down around our ears because of those same scruffy Piglys? For one hundred years, the Lyon family papers have warned us about the Piglys. For one hundred years, they have said we would lose everything, absolutely everything, if every last blasted Pigly is not gone from Pigville by the year 2000. And we’ve managed to get rid of a lot of them. I’ve gotten rid of their parents, their aunties and uncles and cousins, but these three little Piglys stick around like a glue-blob on a finger, and I can’t seem to make them go away! The Lyon papers are very explicit, the Lyons have exactly one hundred years to purge Pigville of Piglys! The time is up next month, and the meeting today was the beginning of the end for us!”
Porcine Laply Lyon yawned. “Posh, Eggie. Those Piglys will never amount to anything; everyone in town knows that. This moldy mansion is our only connection with them, and if you would sell it, you’d be left with plenty of Bucketts and nothing to worry about. We could get a new house, wear stylish clothes, drive fast cars. I think you’re just silly to hold on to this ridiculous pile of bricks.”
Egbert turned red. “You have no idea what you are saying. By hook or by crook, this is my Mansion. By snot or by snout, I will make it pay me. The Lyon papers promise me there’s treasure in these walls. It’s MINE and I will find it!”
Parker Pigly never heard the reply. Something looped around his ankles and yanked back. Something else hit his head. He knew no more.

Determined not to surrender to the Curse of the Piglys, the trio of pigs embark on a perilous path through the past, hoping to reclaim their honor and restore their family fortune. But it is not long before they discover that their town’s history has been rewritten and that brute force has been exerted to keep the Piglys from receiving what is rightly theirs.
In this charming children’s mystery tale, three pigs must rely on a book of antique poetry and their beliefs as they courageously battle a modern-day villain determined to destroy their town.
About the Author
The Piglys have been pestering Mary Coons for their debut for twenty years, but she was busy illustrating sixteen books, writing two more, drawing hundreds of houses, presenting university classes, raising two sons, and walking three dogs. Since moving to Indiana, she has moved the Piglys from her notebooks onto the printed page.
