Billy decided to speak. “Did you make the shhhhh sound?”
“SHHHHH,” was the reply.
“Shhhhh,” said Billy.
The eyes stared at Billy, so Billy stared back. In his head he counted the seconds - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Then the leaves rustled and slowly the eyes became a face and then the face became a body and finally, right there before him, Billy saw the strangest looking creature he had ever seen.

About the Book
Billy sat under the tree in his backyard playing the clapping game, just like he did every fall. However this one day as the leaves fell into his hands, a strange and wonderful secret was revealed to Billy that would not only teach him about why the leaves change color in the fall, but also show him that friends can be found in the most unexpected places!
About the Author
Author, Beth Kasper is a preschool music specialist and a performing arts camp director in Scotch Plains, NJ. She was tired of watching teachers sit and read to restless students, so she wrote this book and preface, to help parents/teachers learn to make a book come alive.
