About the Book
As the first rays of the sun peek over nature’s valley, a redheaded woodpecker busily drills, a doe’s hooves make crunching sounds in the snow, and two Christmas trees—one perfect and one not so perfect—wait for someone to choose them, and hopefully not for firewood. Runt’s needles are multi-colored and not two of his branches are the same size. Grace is perfectly shaped without a blemish or pine cone to scar her profile. As they anxiously wait, Davey and his parents head into the woods to find the perfect tree. But after they choose Grace and haul her home, Runt is left alone without a purpose—or so he thinks. David Guidera grew up in rural Connecticut surrounded by woods, fields, and rivers. He has always wanted to write a Christmas story that captures the splendor of nature and shares the inspiring message of giving to children. David currently resides in Scottsdale, Arizona.
