About the Book

Lou lives in the country. One day, she spots a sign on a tree that reads, “free.” Beneath the tree is a box. Inside the box is a tiny ball of fluff. Lou decides to keep him as her pet and names him Lucky, and happily watches him grow bigger and fluffier by the day. In fact, Lucky is so big that strangers sometimes ask if he is a pony, a hairy goat, or even a bear! One day, when Lou, her mother, and Lucky decide to visit her father in the big city, their fun adventure turns terrifying when Lucky jumps out of the car and runs away. Will they find Lucky or will he be lost forever? Lucky and Lou is the heartwarming tale of a little girl and her beloved pet as a trip to the big city turns into an adventure neither expected.

About the Author

Rachael Plattner has had a passion for art since her youth and earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Illinois State University. Her writing is inspired by her two children who love a creative, engaging book. Rachael resides with her husband and children.
