Well, now Dog was in way over his head. Where was he going to go? He’d never even spent a night outside of the house, let alone left town. As night began to fall, he wandered aimlessly along the side of the main street. No one was looking for him, he thought. His belly turned as he began to cry, sitting on a bench by the bus stop. Suddenly, a cat showed up. Dog was so naïve, he didn’t even chase him.
“What’s the matter with you, dog?” the silver striped cat said in a hissing purr.
“I’m all alone. Nobody wants me anymore…nobody’s looking for me,” Dog replied hanging his furry face, licking his tears as they fell from his eyes.
“Well, so what? We’re all alone man. You can’t let it make you cry. You’re a dog for goodness sakes! You have to act like it. I mean, you didn’t even growl when I walked up to you.”
“But I don’t know you, why would I growl at you?”
“It is precisely because you don’t know me that you were supposed to growl at me!”

About the Book
Dog is a sad house dog who thinks his once loving and doting family does not want him anymore. Nobody pays attention to him and they even forgot his birthday. Seemingly left with no other choice, Dog wanders far from home.
It is not long before Dog meets up with Fancy, a wise street cat, and Buster, a stray dog, who encourage him to choose a new name. Now as Socks, the house dog is ready to discover just what it means to live outdoors. About the Author
Auntie Liki earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Ohio State University in 1999. She worked for the Columbus Blue Jackets for five years before moving to San Diego, California, in 2005. In 2012, she returned to Columbus, Ohio, where she resides today. This is the first book in a series.
