While watching her kitten, Snow Mittens, sleep, little Penelope Ellerbee is hoping to find an adventure for the day.
She imagines how nice it would be to fly with the birds, bees, and butterflies. She decides that would be a good way to spend the day. Penelope closes her eyes, and she sees herself soaring high amid the clouds, the sun, and the sky. Soon, she is busy as a bee making a variety of new friends in her world.

William Wendell Holton has had a longstanding passion for artistic expression and a strong desire to create children’s stories. He lives in Dallas, Texas, with his wife, Andrea, and their two dogs, Trini and Bago. This is Holton’s debut book.
