Many moons ago there lived this 144 year old Wisteria tree in Japan. People came from all over to sit by this tree they named Rumi. They named him for a famous wise man. People would come to sit by him and meditate for hours and they respected this tree and often said they would get the answers to their problems by simply coming to meditate under this beautiful tree and they would bring him gifts like flowers or small trinkets as offerings for his wonderful guidance.

Through the stories of the different trees from around the world, How the Standing People Came Together to Teach the Humans, the trees offer lessons about living in harmony with the earth and its creatures. It shows how all are interconnected, and harm to one is harm to all.

About the Author
Virginia Tarin earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in Counseling and LPC and CADC 1 licenses. A first-generation female born in the United States from immigrant parents from Mexico, Tarin worked as a school counselor before retiring and has Master Reiki/Karuna certificates. She lives in Portland, Oregon.
