About the Author
A native of Los Angeles, California, Paula D. Golden is an author and early childhood educator who has helped promising young children to find the confidence to succeed in reading and mathematics. Besides writing stories, Paula enjoys participating in library and community book fairs and doing school presentations. She spends her free time with her family, hiking and learning new skills. Laura Esthela González brings her story vividly to life, using vibrant color, motion and expression to celebrate a child who is bursting with excitement over adopting a pet. This playful journey will stir emotion in readers young and old. About the Illustrator: I was born in the year of 1984, in Monterrey, México. Drawing was one of my favorite amusements when I was a child, so my parents took me into drawing classes, when I was 8. It was a short time, but it encouraged me to keep drawing and eventually gave me the confidence to study the career of Graphic Design in the local University (UANL) some years later. And there I knew about illustration, and then it hit me: I found WHAT I wanted to do with my life! It took me a while to find the way, but it was worthwhile.
