Sometimes, when she was outside after dark, she would use the sky as a big "dot to dot" slate. She would write her name across the sky by connecting the stars with invisible lines. She called it the "Lakyn" constellation.
As the years went by and Lakyn grew, so did her love for the stars. She wished she could reach out and touch them!
Tonight seemed to be like every other night. She was no longer awake and began to drift into sleep. Only this time she didn't drift into sleep. Being neither awake nor asleep, she drifted into the Neithernor, and the Neithernor was magic!
Up past the trees and through the clouds she went. When she finally stopped, she sat up, expecting to find herself in her bed, but instead she was sitting in the middle of the night sky!

The Nightingirl follows Lakyn as she drifts into the galaxy and discovers she is a nightingirl. Only a nightingirl has the power to restart a star that has gone dark. She meets an array of friends during her travels and discovers a most unlikely hero.
