If my head would quiet down, I might actually make an impression on you. I was diagnosed with Schizoaffective Disorder, which is a mix between Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder. Mmm, diagnoses and the money they win…and what’s more: the nothing the diagnosed can do about it. Once you are on the pills, you can’t get off, and more than that, they tell you that you wouldn’t be able to anyway. I know the truth, though, in my heart. I may be an emotional wreck due to a shoddy life, but I know the telepathy is real. I’ll explain how as soon as I can find the patience.
How do I know? Well, it’s kind of the only explanation for what I am going through. I may be moody and paranoid, but that isn’t the reason my motor functions are out of my control some of the time. It’s not the reason I receive messages from speak-thought, either. I am a gifted person. In fact, I call it, the telepathy and extra-sensory ability, “the gift”. It’s easier than calling it Extra-Sensory Perception, or E.S.P., every time. Plus it is, that ability, a gift. I am sure of that. But it’s not a random one. All it is is simply someone who has figured out how to use his/her mind in different, sometimes unique, ways. There is nothing magical about it…at least not anymore.

About the Book

Though he struggles with several mental illnesses, he is also blessed with the gifts of ESP and telepathy.

In this story, he examines himself and shares his thoughts and feelings on his gifts. He muses on a variety of topics and themes, including love and self-love, intimacy, friendships and relationships, and his professional and educational pursuits.
A work of irony, drama, comedy, and hope, A Guide to the Gift paints an interesting firsthand portrait of mental illness and the battles someone might face when dealing with various disorders.
About the Author
Bernard Hime is a writer, artist, and musician. He spends his days getting better at all three and looking for the people he wants to share life with.
