Every night, when Gillian lies down to sleep, her mom and dad tell her, “Save us a spot in Sleepy Town.” Sleepy Town, her mom explains, is a place just for her, where all her dreams can come true.
One night, Gillian prays to the Lord to help her find Sleepy Town. And that night, she finds herself walking through the gates of Sleepy Town itself! There she finds a courtyard full of fair maidens, court jesters, and dancing princes and princesses. The music is lively, and she longs to dance among all these dream figures. When she does, she draws everyone’s attention—but what happens next will help her learn an important lesson about faith, belief, and curiosity. And when all is said and done, can she find her way back home to her family?
In this children’s story, a little girl falls into a land where her wildest dreams come true and discovers how imagination can provide her with a place of peace, security, and joy.
About the Author
Wesley Stephens Wood is a busy father of three who enjoys drawing, painting, poetry, musical performance, and song writing. He finds inspiration for art in the vibrant energy of his wife and children, his love for them, and the natural world around him. When he is not spending time with his family or interpreting his walk of life into art, Wesley is deeply involved in the leadership of a family business that participates in the construction supply market, a business which employs approximately 30 people.
