Marcos the Mustang

The Marcos the Mustang series of books is designed to educate children and adults who enjoy reading to children of many ages. The Marcos the Mustang series of books is a Concept Book series. The idea behind the Marcos the Mustang series it to identify terminology of the animal kingdom while making the reading entertaining. This concept will continue through the series as Marcos travels the world seeking new friends. The Concept is consistent and includes up to five things with each animal represented. These are: 1. Gender terms 2. Infant or non-adult terms 3. Sounds or noises made 4. Group terms 5. Locomotion terms The other defining information includes the region or environment of each and any other pertinent flora or environmental conditions of the region as well as nesting area terms and behavior patterns to the animal. Illustrations are crucial to the books and all illustrations will be intended for reference and therefore must be anatomically, visually and physically correct. This will be strictly followed for the animal; any habitat features pertinent to the animal being portrayed; and the maps depicting the geographical location. This also will be followed for other displays of the animal or locations based on seasonal changes in appearance. The Marcos the Mustang series is designed to be a set books with four books in each set. And each set to follow guidelines for a geographical region. The first series is set in North America and includes Woodland, Mountains, Grasslands and Prairies, and the Arctic. Following series will include Farms, Ranches, Urban, Suburban, and intentions of Rivers, Swamps / Wetland, Desert Southwest, Mexican / Central American Jungle, with all the them following the same guidelines and Concept. Subsequent series with then continue to the various geographical regions of the world, and while doing do they will include the native terms for the Concept. In this way the series can be distributed worldwide and in any languages while reflecting the overall essence of the native region. Future books in series will move to South America, including Andes, Patagonia, Amazon basin and Atacama Desert with intentions of Galapagos, Caribbean and Pampas. From there it will shift to Africa; Australia / New Zealand; South East Asia; China / Mongolia / Japan and so forth. Marcos is a Mustang. This is important, as it is necessary to relate that any animal could have been the main character, however horses and dogs are some of the most identifiable animals worldwide. Children throughout the globe can recognize and relate to a horse and therefore it is the choice for the main character. A mustang, however, was chosen to identify with Marcos, as the word itself has no definitive meaning, except as a wild, free roaming horse without boundaries. There is a back story to Marcos that will be revealed in a later book about his early life. Marcos as a character also has other subliminal agendas including a constant desire to make new friends, not to discriminate nor to omit or dismiss anyone that he comes into contact with, and the underlying tone is a sense of a non-bullying attitude, and a non-elitist; non- pretentious way of thinking. And to always look for the good in everyone he meets. It is very crucial that this format and the main characters way of thinking, and acting remains true throughout all the Marcos the Mustang series of books in the future.
