Preppy was still stuck to the shoe, going up and down with it. He saw lots of green going up and down too - Grandma's garden. They went through the gate into the open and Preppy suddenly fell off the shoe and found himself in the middle of a cobble stone street. Lots of big shoes - flats, boots, oxfords were moving around him, - so many people! One pretty green shoe came so close the Pin grabbed onto it. The woman crossed the street and he was on the sidewalk. There were even more shoes, even more people! Preppy darted back and forth avoiding all the feet. When he noticed a door fling open as quickly as he could he ran in and found himself at the millinery. The shop was quite large, lots of shelves lined the walls, neatly stacked on them were all types of hats. Big floppy beach hats, fancy top hats, fedoras, bowlers, caps, fascinators and so on. Preppy walked on admiring the hats, he imagined himself wearing a tiny bowler hat.
“Quite fancy!” He chuckled.
It was closing time; the last people were out and the shopkeeper locked the door. He decided to sweep the floor before leaving and Preppy had to run as fast as he could to escape the broom. He found a little spot behind the clothes hanger in the corner and sat down.
“Whew“, he thought. “Great exercise! “Guess I will sleep here.
He was about to curl up but then heard a very faint sound. Wondering what it was Preppy looked about his little corner.

About the Book
Little Preppy the Pin lives in a sewing box in Grandma’s cottage with his mom and dad. Unlike everyone else, Preppy never gets chosen to help because he’s too small. He’s told that he will find his special purpose someday, but the waiting makes him sad.
After Grandma’s cat knocks over the sewing box, Preppy gets stuck on a little girl’s shoe and dragged outside. It’s a dangerous world, but Preppy makes it safely to a milliner’s shop, filled with fancy hats—and that’s just the beginning of his journey!
With the help of new friends and kind kids, Preppy learns that he can be helpful, no matter his size. He might be small, but Preppy can make a big difference.
About the Author
Alina Burova-Cole is a former childcare provider. Clement Cole is a small business owner. For both authors grandmas (for Alina grandpa too) were an enormous influence, inspiration and a constant part of their childhood. The idea of the little pin came about from the love of embroidery and memories of grandma’s sewing and knitting.Alina and Clement live in New York city with their baby boy and two kitties. It’s their first children’s book.
