Oh, now I get it, now I can see, why my twins don’t look like each other, yet they both look like me.
One has my nose, the other my eyes. One has my brown skin, oh what a surprise.
One is a bit chubby and one is a bit thin. One looks like their father; they both have his chin.
What a joy it is to watch my twins grow. They both are pretty funny, they put on quite a show.
They dance and they sing, they giggle and laugh, and they love splashing each other when they take a bath.
Sometimes they argue and sometimes they fight, but they cuddle up close at the end of the night.
The clothes that they wear are often the same because being a twin is more than a name.
And when they go out people point and stare, they ask, “Are they twins?” “Yes, they are,” mom declares.
But you should not stare and pointing isn’t right, try waving “Hello,” because that’s more polite.
How do people know since they don’t look the same? There’s something magical about twins it is more than a name.

About the Book

About the Author
Katrina Jaxson has been writing and publishing poems since she was in third grade. She worked for HBO for fourteen years and was a teen mother who survived three adolescents, a set of twins, and a lifetime of trial and error.
A native of Santa Barbara, California, Katrina now resides in Inglewood with her husband, Charles, and her nine-year-old twins, the inspiration for her first book, The Magic of Twins.
