In the begining of this pandemic, most people I talked to about this new disease were surprising calm about it. Still intent on going about their daily life, and hadn't heard whether or not there was a shortage of masks in their area. Most were just trying to figure out where to go for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day celebrations.
(I suggested the nearest hospital if they weren't going to take any precautions!)
Thinking back to that time, maybe they were afraid, but didn't want to come to terms with the fact the a cruise ship had just landed on our shores and that this deadly disease was on our lands, and that this passengers and crew who were going to be, and had started to be released to go home had just spider-webbed this disease across our country and maybe just sealed all our fates.
I understood their fear. At that time it was just around the middle of February. No one knew that much about this disease. How it was getting spread? Were masks that important? Or were people just being paranoid?
I remember thinking back at how frustrating this disease was, to not know exactly the cause, and the way it spread.
For instance:
I had heard reports that some people had gotten the disease from standing close to someone who was coughing or sneezing.
Others got the disease from using machinery or office equipment that others had used or touched before them. (Being lazy never payed off as much as it did now!)
Still others had had no contact except being on an airplane headed home for spring break. Shortly after I heard this one of the morning news shows did an in-depth report about how one (1) cough could effect people on an airplane up to fifteen (15) feet away. I thought: "of course! It's not like on airplane in mid-flight you can just open a window to get some fresh air. You and your flight neighbor have never shared so much as now. (Makes you think twice about that mile high club doesn't it?)
But still the question is there:
How do we know who to avoid?
How do we know who has this new disease?
There are no outward signs to point the contagious out.
There are no large or small purplish blotches on the body or face, no lumps you feel on a loved one's body when you're hugging them or when they are doing a monthly self examination at home.
Unfortunately there are no outward signs to tell you so you can be safe or go get tested or stay home to protect friends, co-workers and loved ones.
That is the scariest part of this disease.
You just don't know who has it, and who doesn't. So now your thinking :"it's best just to stay away from everyone."
Which leads us to the main topic of this book:
Quarantine !

About the Book
This year is a year that will go down in history not only for the election that came up, but also for the worst disease to hit our planet and all the people residing on it in decades.
We have all seen the posts and the pod-casts that have shown on commercials and news clips telling us to stay home when possible, and stay safe as often as we can. Who would have ever believed something like a virus that started in Asia back in January of 2020, would cripple us globally and continue to do so to this date and time.
I thought a lot about this problem.
I miss my family and friends. I know a lot of you have been feeling the same way about being inside for days on end.
Feeling concerned about jobs, food, money, disasters from tornadoes, face masks and where to find them. And toilet paper and who has it.
I decided to write down my experiences on these topics and see how many of you relate to them, and maybe even laugh about them now.
So get ready cause we’re going to talk about it all. The drama, the comedy, and the real reason :
We’re All In This Together.
About the Author
This is the first book written by author Linda Meade. She is a woman who lived thru the quarantine time of 2020. I’m sure she’d like to say she was awoken in the middle of the night and a burning bush was in her living room telling her like Moses on the mountain to write this book. But there was no bush. She’s a woman just like you going thru this pandemic as all of you did. Looking for toilet paper, and masks at 2:00 a.m. in the grocery store right there next to you.
But I will tell you Linda Meade is funny, one of her favorite authors is Nora Ephram, and if you know Nora’s writing then you know Linda. Linda’s read a lot of her books and seen quite a few of the movies she’s written for, so in the middle of the night maybe Nora was her burning bush. Getting her up to write something funny, honest, and crazy in a time were we were together, 6-feet apart.
