About the Book
The author tells the story of a four year old named Gracie who speaks only Spanish. She is enrolled in a preschool to learn English but faces the dilemma of not knowing how to fully communicate in English. She overcomes this challenge with the help of a teacher assistant. The author wanted to write about how she overcame being a Spanish speaker into a bilingual speaker.
About the Author
Dr. Grace Ibanez Friedman has over forty years in education with a dual specialty in early childhood and bilingual education. Her career has spanned preschool to college level populations as a teacher, trainer, curriculum specialist, program evaluator and author. She serves as a volunteer to Girls of the World, a youth empowerment group for girls 8-18. She is a member of AAUW (American Association of University Women).
