Refracted Reflections

The creator-creation relationships go to the very apex of philosophical and religious thoughts, and as we progress with our technologies and research and increase our understanding and intellects, we may enhance our understanding of the matters related to creations and get a better handle on why we are here and where we are destined.

Our natural curiosity about ourselves and our surroundings motivates us to continually experiment so we can enlighten ourselves and augment our knowledge.

Understanding the deeper and intrinsic meaning of the scriptures leads us to discover and explore newer and more diverse facets of ourselves and of the universe.

The conception of a baby in its mother’s womb is a transmigration from some other prior form of life in another dimension to its life in the womb, which turns that into the hereafter for the baby, and therefrom another afterlife when it is born in this world.

At times, we cede our free will willingly or under duress to comply with the will of others, but that doesn’t imply we don’t have freewill……

Forgiving and forgetting are the best ways to neutralize our adversaries’ evil and vicious intents; that will show them the sublime beauty of love and compassion compared to harshness and violence and help make this world a better place.

Human values and sound social norms help keep our planet a peaceful and amicable place to dwell and ensure pure and love-filled environments for all its inhabitants. Morality teaches us how we can live in a way that ensures justice prevails, that nobody goes to bed hungry, and that poverty is eradicated regardless of where we live or what color, cast, creed, or religion we follow………

Voluntarily undertaking social and charitable tasks and activities can contribute heavily to our sense of freedom of choice as there is no compulsion upon us to do so. This gives us a greater sense of independence and contributes to the improvement of our self-esteem and pride of achievement when we see the fruits of our social labor.

Death effectively is the end of our life journey on this planet perhaps on our way to some form of existence in an unknown form and dimension. Whether that just refers to the soul (the I of me) or in some other state is beyond human comprehension, and I believe it will continue to remain so.

While the eventual realization of heaven and hell will likely dawn upon us after our transition from our current lives, for now, we probably experience our own individual heavens and hells mentally as we go through life depending on our actions and the way we deal with all other creations as our guilt consciences are with us throughout our lives and can make our lives a living hell due to our ill-deeds and treatment of others…….

We co-exist on this planet, so it is in our individual and collective interests, besides many other reasons, to care for others. It is an imperative if we want to lead full and wholesome lives and cater to our sustenance requirements………

…… True happiness is enjoying the here and now at every step of our journey while pursing our short and long term goals, ambitions, and aspirations. We don’t need to put our happiness on hold between the various stages of our journey, and celebrate only the achievement of each goal or milestone. Such happiness will always be short-lived.

Due to the mindset created by media and various social contacts and complemented by observed and visible practices, it would be difficult for most people to be unaware of bias in our societies against people of different casts and colors………

One could argue about the extent to which gender-related biases should be minimized as such issues need to be carefully weighed and considered since societies function based on the idea of the two genders going hand in hand to make and sustain life. Eliminating all nuances and differences in their upbringing and training may lead to some disenchantment in the lovely and beautiful concept of the male-female bonding and affiliations and attractions that develop between the two genders, which indeed need to be encouraged for the sustenance and propagation of life on earth.

If we are serious and honest in our intentions to protect our future generations, we need to start with protecting the existing generations……...

Our leaders do not represent anymore government of the people, by the people, for the people as stated by Abraham Lincoln in his 1863 Gettysburg Address but rather have become government of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich.

Elections must be demystified; they should not be rich men’s games, which is what they have become. The whole establishment and election process must be rethought, and perhaps more important, the entire approach needs a major overhaul to become what it was meant to be—a platform for the public and its general good rather than a money-making and power-peddling playground for the rich and super-rich.

Idle wealth sitting in bank accounts does not help anybody; in fact, it makes the poor suffer more and indeed become poorer.
