Many women relate to pain points such as: betrayal, anger, hurt, powerless, settle, defeated, depressed, stuck. They are real. Like many of the women I’ve coached, mentored and or supported, I’ve faced problems and challenges on my way to the executive suite. I even felt that what was happening to me in certain employment situations was simply not fair or unjust. Either way, at times, I felt helpless.
Still, I learned early on that I needed to help myself. Believe me, starting my career in the male dominated industrial automotive manufacturing environment at the age of 21, I quickly learned that if I didn’t step up and fight for myself, no one else will. I made the choice to not blame my circumstances but to be true to myself at every stage of the journey so that I could use every ounce of Capacity on and off the job. After thirty plus years in corporate hallways, I left to begin my next chapter. I decided to help other women succeed.
I have a vision to advance women’s leadership, and I work on this vision each and every day. I Imagine that women will use their capacity to shatter old rules, refuse to accept limitations, imposed by others or those they place on themselves, set their own measure of success and design the life and career of their dreams. Ultimately, gender-equality would be a non-issue and women and men would see leadership in a new and limitless way to share power at the top.
