Three streams of blood came bursting from Duratek's lips as he tried to cover a sudden coughing fit with his hand. "I feel it is a little late in the hour. Please tell my wife, Ishita —."
"I don't know who you are," interjected Marigold," but I promise I will find her."
"You must find Ishita Duratek. Tell her that the Pink Bunny will save the world."
Before Marigold could ask what that meant, the man slumped backward, causing a small revolver to fall out of his jacket pocket. Marigold picked up the blood-stained gun, and was standing over Duratek's body, just as Giocatore came walking down the aisle.
"Whoever is responsible for locking down the garage, I have been circling for twenty minutes and the Obercall battery almost died —along with me!" Giocatore looked over at Marigold. "What have you done? Why would you kill an innocent man?"
"I have murdered no one," stated Marigold.
"I am ordering you to stand down. Code Epsilon, Zeta, Delta —.”
Realizing that Doctor Giocatore was beginning to activate her shutdown code, Marigold looked down to see that she still held the gun in her hand. Instinctively, she pointed it at Giocatore, "Do not place me into shutdown mode, Dr. Giocatore, I did not kill this man, but it is vital that you listen to me. His wife must know that the only thing that can save the world is a Pink Bunny."
“You've gone mad, Marigold and I promise you that you'll answer for your crime."
Unsure how to extract herself from the situation, Marigold found herself with no other choice but to fire a shot over Giocatore’s head. As he ducked down, Marigold took the opportunity to jump into the idle Obercall. She looked up to see that Giocatore was moving to intercept the vehicle, so she fired the gun one more time, causing Giocatore to drop to the ground.
"I advise you to not follow me."

About the Book
In the year 2270, the Lyceum Mechaniska laboratory has produced androids—part robot, part human—called “InOrganics.” Marigold is one such creation, built with the purpose of assisting individuals who have experienced emotional or physical trauma. However, Marigold has been acting strangely, even aggressively.
When Marigold is accused of murder, she is in danger of being terminated. Despite what scientists believe, she is innocent of her crimes and is now on a mission to stop a virus from being released and adhere to the last words of a dying man by finding “the Pink Bunny.”
Detective Chabox Brignadoc has long been suspicious of Lyceum and the company’s behind-the-scenes behavior. Brignadoc must determine if Marigold is actually guilty of murder or if she’s the victim of conspiracy. In an adventure that spans two continents, both Marigold and DCI Brignadoc are in a race against time to expose a deadly secret that could change the face of humanity forever.
About the Author
William G. Howard’s fascination with storytelling began in childhood. After graduating from Temple University, he taught in Philadelphia for twenty years before semi-retiring in 2013 to devote himself to writing. William is a member of the Bucks County Writers Group and author of The Eye of Hermes: A Minerva Novel. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife Bonnie.
