About the Book
Rodney Hillaire believes that God loves us through the hope of our ancestors. With that in mind, he shares his personal experiences with the hope of helping those who cannot make the canoe journey themselves—his racing buddies, elders, family, friends, and the troubled—to grow spiritually and culturally through the spirit of Lummi’s values and mission to preserve, promote, and protect their Schalangen. As he leads others through his family history and remedies and varied canoe journeys, Rodney shines a bright light on the Lummi Nation that he hopes will revitalize cultural teachings and serve as a legacy for future generations. My Spiritual Journey provides a fascinating glimpse into the experiences and insight of a Lummi Nation member as he paddles his way through life.

i started teaching puyullup canoe culture and sapiritual and lead canoe puller for high suicide because puyullup had no culture or tridittions and helped my Lummi tribe since 1997
