The Head of the SU Electrical Engineering section and a friend of AO was now Dean of the SU Engineering School, so AO obtained information on the school, applied for advanced acceptance, and arranged for Tom’s housing and membership in the engineering fraternity. AO would pay the full course and housing charges. Valerie was a gifted pianist, and could play a number of other instruments so AO arranged for tutors to work with her to increase her skills for acceptance to one of the top music schools. AO and friends were soon constructing the new house. The very terrible act by his wife had not been a tragic disaster, it had resulted in what he had wanted and worked for during his whole life, without success before now! After 52 years of repeated frustrations in his life, AO now had a family, a great loving wife, children and many very good friends. The things he wanted and worked for over fifty years had now come to fruition. HE WAS FULLY SATISFIED AND HAPPY AT LAST!

About the Book
Albert Chamberlin was hitchhiking home while in college when a man told him about his life’s problems and frustrations.
The man’s mother died in childbirth and his father and brothers blamed him. He was not considered family. He did hard, dirty tasks, with no thanks, and left home as soon as he finished high school. His difficult life continued for many years.
But the man had finally achieved his long-term objectives, and he had to tell someone about it. The author was there to listen … and learn.
After leaving home at age sixteen, the man became a seaman on a tramp steamer, fought and was wounded in France during World War I, and then returned to the United States and became a carpenter. He built a house and then married. His wife was arrested for prostitution. He divorced her and gave her the house, which he considered contaminated. After all that, however, he had arrived at a new place—one in which all his dreams had come true.
It came to the author: His life was the exact opposite of this tale. By combining the two narratives, the story of the anonymous one emerged.
About the Author
Albert Chamberlin is a widower with two children and six grandchildren. He grew up on a farm with a practicing architect mother. An electrical engineer with an MBA, he worked for a division of United Technologies for forty years and traveled the world. While working in Connecticut, he was state president of the Association for Children with Learning Disabilities. In Pennsylvania, he coordinated scores of Red Cross blood drives. He was active in local churches and attended more than forty Philadelphia Orchestra concerts.
