The first assignment was given, Mrs. Smith wanted each of us to write about our summer vacation. I began writing about my adventure to Walt Disney World and how I loved the racing cars. When the teacher approached my desk she said Isabella, oh my what a messy handwriting you have Isabella.

About the Book
It’s the first day of second grade for little Isabella. She’s both excited and anxious! Isabella wants to have a better school year, a great teacher and good friends. Little Isabella soon finds herself disappointed; Mrs. Smith, breaks her confidence by criticizing her handwriting, friends no longer wanted to play nice, and she also finds herself being ignored by family.
Isabella becomes very angry, at this point she does not know what to do. Finally, she kneels beside her bed and says a prayer, asking God to help her with self-love and a better relationship with her peers.
If Heaven Only Knew shows the resilience of a little girl who used prayer as a metaphor to deal with everyday childhood issues.
About the Author
Ms. Cocoa is African American author from Southeast Georgia. She uses her life experiences to convey stories, to children from all walks of life.
