Poor men die
Poor men die,
as do the rich.
Rich men who reap nations
for causes are long remembered.
Poor men who save nations
for causes are soon forgotten.
Laid low in common graves
poor men sleep.
While....
...In his opulent sarcophagus
the rich man earnestly awaits
a place deserving of his station.
Crying, OH FATHER ABRAHAM…
...HAVE PITY, forget me not.
...though I perceive that your water that might
cool my tongue…
...in this agonizing fire
has been spent on...
...poor men who have died.
Those you have not forgotten.

About the Book
Farrago is a medley of poems. This collection speaks to the reader that the human condition includes occurrences of injustice, rudeness, cruelty, tragic events and perhaps worse of all – loneliness.
This collection serves as a reminder that some situations in life can lead to hopelessness and even a dark death. The search for heroes, the yearning for justice and the reliability of our enormous steadfast universe can help ease the fear of the eventual physical death we all will face.
With the cosmic truth of faith, hope and love being eternal, one should sojourn circumspectly, with cautious boldness, through all the days of our lives on this earthly plane having a fervent expectation of a joyous life without end. By doing so we will find ourselves rich in kindness towards others and enjoying the resulting peace that transcends our understanding.
About the Author
Descending from 17th century New Hampshire settlers Macarius Keysar lives in a cave in the mountains of his ancestral home. Generational influences, green forests, rivers, brooks, ponds, and windblown starlite cold winters, as well as a transcendental appreciation of the beauty in all of nature, he is compelled to express his observations of the hurtful impacts of avarice, cruelty, rudeness, and blind ignorance by self-centered individuals.
Encouraged by hope and inspired by faith, Keysar is a poet/mystic, influenced by ancient writings, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Robert Frost. He is a Seer, able to delve deeply into the mysteries of the cosmos. He is a Sayer who expresses the mysterious to the reader in both common and mystical settings.
In over seventy years Keysar seldom ventures far from his home as he declares, “…life at this 45th parallel vantagepoint affords me with a window to the universe and nature that I dare not miss a moment of.”
