In a Perfect World trilogy of books is a strategic roadmap for men who want to actively participate in the intentional, conscious evolution of themselves for humanity. The first book, In a Perfect World: Man in Relationship with Self, focuses upon the sacred, intra-personal relationship man conducts within himself. What does intentional evolution of consciousness mean? Although it may take many forms and mean different things, for our purpose, it is about accessing with consciousness what is presently beyond human reach. It is about unlocking supernal abilities of knowledge, light, love, life force, volition, and bliss: forces mired in fuzzy intuition, lying in wait for the spark of activation. Intentional evolution of consciousness is not limited exclusively to the concerns of living. It extends beyond material life, challenging the engrained belief that death is the inevitable end to life. It is a bold vision. Those who explore the idea do not shy away from the unthinkable. Conscious evolution is the domain of unthought ideas.
Heart, mind, and soul
The heart, mind, and soul of this book taps into men’s empowerment. I realize that the thought of giving men more power in an already testosterone-imbalanced, patriarchal world may sound like the last thing humanity needs. However, traditional male physical and intellectual strength is not what we are here to amplify. Our charge is to light a fire and enliven the soul, to remember the origins of inner truth, and to embolden the silent wisdom within. These are the initial sparks of the evolution of consciousness the great seer Sri Aurobindo Ghose envisioned for the transitionally evolving man. The time is now to awaken the divine masculine within and welcome him into the waiting world.
I have studied leadership for many years, both professionally and academically. I am a Doctor of Education, alum of Fielding Graduate University School of Education for Leadership and Change with an emphasis on Somatics Phenomenology , and Communicative Leadership. I am President & Owner of Forerunner Coaching Advisory Group, LLC., a full-service coaching advisory consulting group dedicated to coaching excellence and coach-client relationship efficacy. At the same time, I continue to enjoy the fruits of a decades long STEM career. My professional and academic life as a woman operating and leading among men has brought me into close contact with both admired and nefarious men, leaders, and mentors alike. From this perspective I have observed a long-awaited shift toward a more just, equitable, and sustainable world brewing in the ether. The line between the old and the new guard has been drawn, and an evolutionary imperative is at hand. The wisdom, love, and integrity of the Universe has spoken and breathed hope and life into all who hunger for change.
Collaboration and Commitment
As a researcher, it was important for me to include men to participate in the development of this book. As a writer, inspiration was equally important. Thankfully, I was blessed with a healthy supply of amazing men in my life, both professionally and personally. I offered the diverse group of men in my life an opportunity to co-create and evolve together with me to write this book and trilogy. I made a commitment to each that I would provide a safe, confidential nonjudgmental, nonthreatening environment and experience for them to share their stories, opinions, and hopes. I asked each man what it felt like to dive into the heart of their masculinity and share that experience with other men. Their responses were jubilant and celebratory:
It makes me feel alive and that my connections to all of my emotions and sensory stimulus are equally important.
I can allow my true brilliance to come through.
I can celebrate the man that I have become while lifting others up in the process.
Demographically, the men who participated in the circle were aged forty-nine to sixty, representing diverse races, religions, sexual orientations, and backgrounds. All the men live in the Continental United States. These characteristics were the minimum required to participate. The ultimate decision to select a man for the circle was their enthusiasm and readiness to see the value in what the book series has to offer. These men were drawn to the prospect of influencing the cocreation of a roadmap for the 21st century man to self-assess, self-instruct, and self-direct lives of abundance, reach, and impact. The message that overwhelmingly resonated with these men was the appreciation for excellence and to live purposefully on their own terms. The men chosen for the project shared the same qualities I expect I might find in readers of this book.
I wrote In a Perfect World as an homage to the exceptional men I have known, loved, and worked with throughout life. My hope for the men who read this book is that they experience the power of their intentions, witnessing, and reflection in new ways that afford them opportunities to redirect their consciousness, to express the divine masculinity for themselves, others, and the world.
