I’ve shot an arrow through me
right next to the heart
and nearly felt apart
I was lying on the ground
it felt like someone
was kneeling my down
I became so cold
felt old
I thought my skin
was all over with mold
and at my worst
before the final burst
thank God
something hit me
and I started to see
that I was the one
who didn’t allow me to be
so
I started at ground zero
I’ll be my own hero
I’ll take my time
deep down I know
that one day I’ll be fine
I’ll be my own sun
and shine
I took a journey within
did a 180 degree spin
it was a major win
I tested
I rested
this was the best yet
I got up on my knees
lifted my head and felt a breeze
this was suddenly done
with ease
I was finally free
because I allowed myself
to just be
to cry
to sigh
and I gave myself permission
to enjoy each high
But how did I get there? In this book, I’ll share.

About the Book
Ankali believes in the power of taking a journey within to search for answers, that all we ever have is now and that life is a wonderful miracle.
In a debut collection of poems inspired by something Higher, she lyrically explores a variety of themes that include nature, love, dis-ease and life itself. Throughout her presentation, Ankali shares her own story and experiences and reminds us that however dark it may be, there is a light inside all of us that sets us free to rise above and become all we were meant to be.
All poems were influenced by something Greater which engaged into dialogs with her, gave her answers and made her feel healed, hold, unconditionally loved and supported. It allowed her to find her true self, to trust her intuition and build strong faith.
Drowning and Rising shares free verse that reflects on a young woman’s journey through life as she grows to accept herself, to go with the flow and embrace all the goodness of Mother Earth and the universe.
About the Author
Ankali works as a holistic health trainer and yoga teacher who loves to share, evolve, move, and connect. Her first book of poems, Drowning and Rising, was inspired after a trip to Portugal where she dived deeper and raised her emotional and spiritual vibration.
