And never stop looking for and looking at the beauty around you. It may be a mountain kissed by clouds, or the smile on a child’s face. God put so many wonders and so much beauty in this world. Next, slow down! Unless you are rushing to the arms of a loved one, slow down. Sorry if it is a cliché but stop and smell the roses. I hate to break it to you, but you are really not that important. For perspective, I recommend you spend a day wandering around a cemetery. It is filled with people who thought life could not go on without them. Think about that. And I said you were not that important – well, not really true. To your family, your close friends, you are really very important. And a side note: Don’t fool yourself by saying, “Well, I spend quality time with my family!” You have it backwards. Spend quality time at work, spend quantity time with your family. Sometimes, the best thing you can do for your family is just be there.

About the Author
John Stewart has led a life of interest. He has always been interested in almost everything. Unfortunately for him, he could not settle on any one interest long enough to master it, or to make a lot of money. Fortunately for us, he spent a lifetime learning, absorbing knowledge wherever and whenever he could, and making more mistakes than the average person – or three. But through a lifetime of living, learning, and mistakes, he now has a lot of stories to tell. And perhaps a bit of wisdom to pass on. As his wife, I had the joy of helping him in this endeavor – as a sounding board, one of his editors, and cajoling him to continue on even when the task of passing on his thoughts seemed insurmountable. I cannot tell you how happy I am to be able to say, “It’s done! Enjoy!” To all those who have listened to his stories, and even starred in some, thank you.
