About the Book

Marianita has a strong bond with her Madrina, her godmother. They’ve made many happy memories together. Madrina plans a trip to see her goddaughter, and Marianita is so excited she helps her mother make sure their home is spotless.

However, Madrina encounters some obstacles during her travels. She’ll do almost anything to make sure she sees Marianita.

A picture book for children written in both English and Spanish, Madrina shares the heartwarming story of a godmother and goddaughter and their deep love for one another.

About the Author

Noemi Mendez, an educator, has a passion for writing children’s books and understands the need to support early literacy and bilingualism for all children. She lives in Des Moines, Iowa, with her husband, Ronnie, and their cat, Misha Mittens. Mendez loves spending time with her three grown children, Angie, Everett & Charisma. This is her second book with many more to come.
