Chapter 4 Snippet
How to Get Rid of Rejection?
When it is your turn for promotion in God’s Kingdom or the workforce, God cannot use you if you allow others to take the giftings He has given you for their own. His Kingdom advancement is not up for auction nor to be exploited by usurpers. If you have not dealt with the person(s) causing the issue, you cannot be trusted by God with Kingdom assignment because there will always be contention around you. Your emotions will still control your actions, causing more rejection and separation in the house of God, which means the pain is louder than God’s still soft voice. Remember, God wants you whole so you can also accept His love. Nothing should be speaking louder than God in your life. Dealing with people who have caused you pain because of ill-treatment or have taken advantage of your kindness is minimal compared to the work that must be done. That is not the problem, and it is deeper than being mistreated. Healing oneself is necessary to have healthy relationships in the workforce, in your family, and the Church. Even if the hurt is behind an emotional break-up in your personal life, at work, and or at Church, allowing God to heal you first is how he recalibrates your emotions and your soul. God wants us to be balanced in every area of our lives. When we are not in alignment with His word, we cannot hear Him clearly when He is speaking.
If the Spirit of Rejection takes over and the hurt is not dealt with, it has been said that “hurt people, hurt people.” Hurting people includes oneself. Because the individual is not emotionally stable, paranoia sets in, and the person begins to think everyone wants to hurt him/her or someone is out to get him/her. It creates a level of distrust that only Jesus can touch. The truth is everyone does not want to hurt you! Some led by evil spirits will harm you, but overall, everyone is not trying to hurt you. The key is knowing the spirit measure of a man in the Word of God. Psalms 39:4, Lord, make me know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; I may know how frail I am. Also, First Corinthians 2:10 says, “But God has revealed them unto us by is his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yes, the deep things of God. Verse eleven: For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so, the things of God knoweth no man, but the spirit of God.” Sometimes, this means knowing yourself and allowing God to show you what you look like in the spirit. How frail are you? What is the Holy Spirit saying about you as a person? Do you or the other individuals resemble your father? This is a two-fold question. Some may answer with I look like my natural father even in the mirror, but I am asking in the spirit, who do you look like? Is it your Heavenly Father? Do you display His attributes, or is it the attributes of the serpent?
For some that have not been rejected, they may desire to see you rise in adverse situations but cannot pull you up and are not able to help you because God has said “no!” This is where recalibration gets difficult. In those times, God will not allow anyone to help you so you can lean and trust in Him alone. He will bind up the wounds of the brokenhearted and will heal you if you let Him. He wants you to learn from situations so someone else may glean from your experience. When one is rejected, remember that God made us in His image, and therefore, they are not rejecting you but rejecting God. He loves us with everlasting love, and the Devil wants you to believe that God does not love you or anyone else, to isolate and destroy you. You must begin to tell yourself that this is a lie! Rejection is a lie from the pit of Hell to enslave minds and prevent the person from trusting anyone, including the person God sends to elevate him/her. First Corinthians 2:12-14 talks about us not receiving the spirit of this world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given unto us by God which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth; comparing spiritual things with the spiritual. In verse fourteen, but the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolish unto Him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Rejection is not from God but can be spiritually discerned because of the Spirit of God that gives His people wisdom.
It is critical to know the root cause of rejection to overcome it. Suppose this deceptive feeling is not removed and is experienced more than once. In that case, the spiritual gates are opened to attract the same relationships and a repeated whirlwind of added self-hurt. When hurt is not dealt with properly, the person becomes an open target for other spirits associated with the spirit of heaviness such as fear, gluttony, obesity, unworthiness, condemnation, abandonment, false guilt, hopelessness, introspection, lethargy, loneliness, poverty, suicide, sleepiness, shame, isolation, wounded spirit and many more, to come in and dwell there as a new residence and take control, until he/she destroys their own life. Research shows that at least 90% of the people who commit suicide are depressed or have experienced some form of mental illness because of self-isolation and rejection (Center for Substance Abuse Treatment US, 2014). This is a spiritual war, and the person is no longer in control when they begin hating themselves to the point of destruction. Although society has acknowledged it as a mental illness that can be managed with prescriptions, it does not address the root cause. This is now a demonic takeover. Only the power and fire of the Holy Spirit can remove this spirit of Heaviness by faith. The believer must know that everyone gets rejected at some point and overcome the disappointment by knowing who you are in Christ Jesus. It is not the disappointment that is the problem, but how it is managed. Broken hearts can heal, but the person must release the hurt and break all soul ties to be free.
