The news about Charles Taylor’s death was a lie. Later, on the Guinean radio, Charles Taylor had been boasting about how he would never get killed and Gbanga was under his control. In various corners of Diake’ and surrounding towns in Guinea, refugees were glued to their radios and televisions to hear Taylor speak. There were cheers all over the streets. The electric through the refugee camp was striking. His fighters who had basically been fighting for their lives grew confident and started to push the ULIMO forces back. Most of the country especially the Mano and Gio tribes continued backing him.

About the Author
Asekor Glay is a native of Monrovia, Liberia, raised during the first half of the Liberian civil war in 1989 through 1997. He is an artistic evangelist, in which he is a singer and songwriter, pianist, author, photographer, and preacher. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business information systems and is currently working toward his master’s degree in divinity at Fuller Seminary. He is currently residing in the United States where he lives with his wife, Marinda, and his two daughters, Anastasia and Forsythia.
