Where is Aaron? Elita still felt very worried about Aaron. She had noticed he was more quiet these days and he did not come over as much as he used to. She understood he felt ignored by Andy, her brother, since Andy started hanging out with Lisa. The way he grabbed that puzzle and wanted to go home right away made her think that Aaron wanted to return to Puzzle Land. It also caused her to believe that Puzzle Land still existed. Also, it was strange the way the puzzle just fell off the shelf. Elita remembered how the farm puzzle had a strange way of making her want to look at it too. Maybe Aaron was being hypnotized by Professor Robinson and he didn’t know it! After all, he was his apprentice. She decided to run over to his house, as it was next door anyway. Elita ran over and knocked on the door. His dad, Mr. Gilbert answered. “Well hello Elita, how are you?” “Fine,” she said. “And how is that big brother of yours doing? That was a great hook-shot he had Friday night,” Mr. Gilbert said. Mr. Gilbert loved basketball and was thrilled to see Aaron and Andy play. He also liked to talk a lot, but he never really paid attention to what he was actually saying! “He’s fine too, But I came….” Elita started to say. “You tell that Andy to come on over and visit us again, okay?”said Mr. Gilbert. “Well I remember Andy once…” “Mr. Gilbert,” Elita said interrupting. “Is Aaron home?” “Oh,” he said as he turned to call for Aaron. “Aaron! Aaron” he yelled. Then he turned to Elita. “You know, I don’t think he’s home. He better not have taken the car!” Mr. Gilbert said as he went to check the garage. Elita followed him. “Well, the car’s here, but his bike is gone. I bet he went for a ride. Is there something I can do for you Elita?” “No sir,” Elita said feeling sad. “If you like, I can go and look for him.” Mr. Gilbert said. “Oh my no,” blurted out Elita. “I just wanted to know if Aaron started that puzzle yet. The one he bought at the mall. If he doesn’t want it I wouldn’t mind putting it together.” Elita fumbled with her fingers nervously. “I’ll just let him know when I see him. I’m sure he won’t be gone long.” said Mr. Gilbert, as he gave Elita a suspicious look. “Okay, thanks Mr. Gilbert. Bye!” Elita said as she took off quickly. She was worried that Mr. Gilbert would start asking too many questions. Where could Aaron be? Elita went home and quietly in her room began to pray. “Lord, please keep Aaron from evil today. Help us put this all behind us and never touch it again. Amen.”
