My book is about my brother Charles Lilienkamp and his year of courage after being drafted by the Army at the age of 18. It contains his frequent letters to his mother and father. Like so many men before him who were American soldiers trained to fight in war, it took courage. From Overseas Charles wrote; Dear Folks, I received letters today from Mom and Dad both and was really glad to hear from you. The letters I'm getting now are rather old but they sure do look good.

About the Book
This book is about my brother Charles, a very kind, intelligent young man who was drafted at 18yrs old to go fight France during WWII. This was totally contrary to hi nature. He must have been very homesick. He wrote many letters home, could not receive enough in return. He only graduated from Central HS in Evansville , Indiana a short time before he was drafted.
About the Author
These are memories of my brother Charles Lilienkamp who at the age of 18yrs was drafted and trained by the Army to fight in France. He and I are from a family of four sons, born and raised in Evansville Indiana. He found time while trying to keep up with Germans fleeing East across France, to write many letters home.
