Chapter 17 The Zero Factor Zero is not a Void; zero is the space where everything is contained and exists. in the beginning, there was the VERB (Zero/Eternity/Infinity). Zero is the point of Infinity, as represented in a mandala. The Zero becomes a spiral, when God becomes creation. All things alive tend to radiate outwards! How does the Zero become matter or movement? When the point of existence radiates forward and manifests the universe; from Zero creation radiates ad infinitum! in other words, God’s manifestation ad infinitum! All things radiate from a point in space and go back to that point, creating form in between. If you look at the center of an apple, for example, there is a void and there is a radiated mass around it, showing the body of the apple. Fractal theory is very similar to David Bohm’s theory of the Implicit/ Explicit Universe and is expressed as the explicit universe, which is the manifestation of an implicit universe that in turn becomes the explicit manifestation of another yet implicit universe, and so on at infinitum! “Little circles within bigger circles within bigger circles and so on. Fractal definition: a pattern that reflects itself in similar ways on different scales.” 61 Gurdjieff also spoke of dimensions in the universe, as Macrocosm and Microcosm of each other: “You see that in the general order of the seven cosmoses, the Microcosm and the Macrocosm stand so far apart from each other that it is impossible to see or establish any direct analogy between them.” 62 “In order to understand the meaning of the division into cosmoses and the relation of cosmoses to each other, it is necessary to understand what the relation of Zero to infinity means.” 63 When God made the world in seven days, it’s not to be taken literally; each day in God’s creation was eons in time. “If we take the figures for the years given in Indian writings, then the Mahamanvantara, that is the “age of Brahma,” or 311,040,000,000,000 years (fifteen figure number), almost coincides with period of existence of the sun (sixteen figure number) and the “day and night of Braha,” 8,640,000,000 (ten figure number), almost coincides with the “day and night of the sun” (eleven figure number).” 64 When we think of time in God’s terms, you can think of it as time immemorial; a time when the universe or universes were waking up as commanded by God and its Creation! “The so-called ‘days’ really represent immeasurable epochs—called “Phenomenal Manifestations of Divine Light,” during which a gradual transmutation of its original essence was first concentrated and then condensed into Fire-mist, the basic substance that underlies all the primary manifestation of the cosmos of the Universes.” 65 Imagine when Creation was almost like a dream, a dream to be dreamed for an eternity in time. That was a spiritual dream, and out of God’s imagination, the world came to be. Rudolph Steiner also said, “The ‘days’ of creation refer to spiritual processes of development to be grasped only by spiritual investigation.
