September 18th, 1945, “Somewhere in Germany,” Well things are much the same. Lots of happenings that I can’t write about and nothing that I can. I will say this however – I am not impressed with this method of making history. I feel sure that there is some simpler, more tranquil, way of getting a line or two in a history book.

About the Book
Private Melvyn Kaufman was just nineteen when he jointed the 9th Infantry Division in WWII. He wrote remarkable letters home offering insight into the day-to-day life of an infantryman who somehow kept his sense of humor while losing faith in humanity.
About the Author
Kim has spent a lifetime in the literary world as a rare book dealer, a librarian and a lifelong writer with an MFA in writing for children and young adults, though somewhere in the early 2000s she made a detour into the restaurant/bar business. All the while her father’s letters from WWII waited patiently on the bookshelf until she was ready to focus on them with the time and attention they deserve.
