The ballpark was bigger than Gordy imagined and the field much greener than his grass at home. "Wow," he yelled. "This is awesome!" Neon signs flashed statistics, and giant pictures of the players popped up on the screen the size of dinosaurs in his favorite movies. For the next two hours, as the umpires called balls and strikes, Gordy bobbed up and down in his seat, not wanting to miss a play or a pitch thrown by Max. "There he is!" Max, Max, #2 you're the BEST," Gordy shouted.

Gordy loves his Detroit Bears baseball team and his favorite pitcher Max Yamato. His parents are taking him to see his first major league game. But first he must get through what seems like a longer than normal school day. Gordy had so much fun at the game he convinces his Dad to take him to future major league parks on his summer breaks.

Currently, she is a communications director for Virginia’s largest construction project. She and her husband spent year’s attending their children’s little league, high school and college games, including their son’s (current MLB Scout) baseball games. Daniel J. H. McDonald is a Suffolk, Virginia-based illustrator, photographer, and designer. Holding a degree in graphic design, he brings a professional touch to his creative endeavors.
