He shakes his head, “What I’m saying if how many times have you ever been sick and then decided it was a good idea to kill someone with your teeth? Or maybe you decide to claw them up so bad, they’re unrecognizable.” I put my pen down. “Have you ever screamed like that when you were sick? Huh? You ever start moaning and screaming so loud it makes the damn birds fly off the trees and stops people in their tracks? What I’m saying is the infection turns your brains to puss and when you die, the infection doesn’t. I wonder if those CDC people figured that one out yet or not.” He smirked and took another drag off his cigarette.

Sammie wants more for herself. After years of struggling with addiction and surviving day-to-day life with her abusive husband, she’s finally fed up. There is nothing she wants more than a second chance at life.

Alli Davenport is a lifelong horror fan. She enjoys drawing, creating, and listening to a wide variety of music, even though her heart resides in the heavy metal genre. When she isn’t writing, she is spending her time helping others, working as an EMT just outside of her hometown. She lives in Oklahoma with her family, friends, and well-fed cat.
