About the Book

The phrase, “Take two aspirins and call me in the morning” has been around for decades; both as a punchline aimed at doctors and as a television commercial catchphrase. Gary titled this book series “Take Two Cameras and Call Me in the Morning”, for two reasons: one because he always carries two cameras with him on photo shoots; and two because after a successful 40-year career as a registered nurse (RN) he continues to believe art and photography have the power to improve the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of individuals of all ages. Gary’s love for classic cars and trucks, trains, wildlife, church architecture and old barns began as a child growing up on a farm near Tamalco, in southern Illinois. He developed a love for southwestern scenery, especially the beautiful sunrises and sunsets after moving to Arizona in the early 1980s. He attributes his eye for detail and subtle color changes to his training as a nurse. Gary uses a variety of techniques in both taking and editing his photographs to achieve the uniqueness of his art. Gary’s work has been recognized by the Arizona Highways, Magazine, New Mexico Magazine, Art Square Gallery of New York, and the Gardenia Exhibition Group. He was honored to participate in the New Mexico Cancer Center’s 2020-2021 “Art of Healing” exhibition in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Peace & Blessings, Gary
