About the Book
Many people today are seeking greater self-awareness and psychological wholeness. Carl Jung, a pioneer in psychological theory, dedicated his life to understanding the human psyche, and his personal journey towards wholeness is vividly documented in The Red Book. Drawing from the techniques and insights found within that extraordinary work, Dr. Claire Hillenbrand Sherman relies on her experience as a clinical psychologist as well as years of research to reveal, in an easy-to-understand approach, the profound treasures of Jung’s psychoanalytic theory. While exploring many aspects of our outer selves (consciousness) as well as our unconscious inner world, Dr. Sherman explains key concepts of Jung’s theory that can be used as tools to attain personal awareness, growth, and transformation. Each concept is followed by step-by-step practices that include quotes, key points, creative exercises, writing activities, and reflection questions designed to help personalize the material and support a journey of self-discovery. In this practical guide, a clinical psychologist draws on Carl Jung’s psychoanalytic theory and supportive tools to help those seeking self-awareness and personal growth to better understand themselves based on his groundbreaking discoveries.
