Lights cascade back and forth upon the three contestants on a studio stage. The music with a throat singing growl and drums begin to play. The contestants sway and show their fanged smiles filled with excitement while standing behind their individual countertops. A loud voice came over the speaker as the music decreased in volume. “It’s time for the number one LATE NIGHT contest in all of the underworld! Finest of Blood!” The lights and cameras pan over to an audience section filled with whistling and cheering vampires. The voice continued: “Tonight’s episode is brought to us by Ashdoom Prison. A special thanks to the late-night shift guards for making tonight’s episode possible. Now for our host! The one and the Only Mistress Vicki!”

About the Author
Jennifer Box received her degree in Political Science with an emphasis on domestic policy. She spent many years working for the government running a collection unit. After suffering a family tragedy, she turned to writing short stories in her favorite genre, horror, as a means of release.
